澤雉十步一啄，百步一飲，不蘄畜乎樊中。神雖王，不善也。

The marsh pheasant has to go ten steps for a peck, a hundred steps for a drink. But it doesn’t want to be pampered in a cage. It does the spirit no good even to be king. [1]

[1] This imagery is reminiscent of Xu You's response to Yao's offer of the empire (1.04). Is this a free-standing little reflection here, or part of the commander's answer to Gongwen Xuan in the previous episode?
